A remote worker from a business in Oxford contacted us with a rather urgent issue. Their ISP provided them with a new upgraded WiFi router (Hyperoptic Hyperhub), however, their work laptop (Lenovo Ideapad 520s 14IKB) was not able to see the new Wireless Network at all.
I asked them to connect the laptop to a mobile hotspot and established remote connection via TeamViewer. The WiFi adapter (Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 3165) was operating normally, Windows and Lenovo was telling that drivers were up to date.
After a bit of research I round that this particular Intel WiFi Adapter has a known issue in older firmware versions where it can’t see WiFi 6 networks. I went straight to Intel to hunt for the latest drivers. While this adapter model is now “end of life”, there was still a more up to date version than the one installed on the laptop.

After installing the above version, the new Hyperhub WiFi network “magically” appeared and laptop connected to it with no issues.
